The sugar never bothered me anyway

   It’s been a little while since I’ve blogged, but trust me the cakes are still going strong! I’ve recently accepted a position as cake decorator with a local bakery which has kept me plenty busy. You’ll see some of those cakes soon, I promise! First, check out this “Frozen” themed cake.

My dear friend Katie first asked me about doing a “Frozen” cake a few months ago and I admit, I was worried I wasn’t going to be able to pull it off. I started hunting via Pinterest for some ideas that looked do-able, but just wasn’t coming up with anything. Almost everything I found that looked good required extensive fondant work or modeling. I’m a terrible visual artist, so I was even more worried.

As the date got closer, Katie sent me some pins. The one she ended up liking the best looked more than do-able! Whew! Here’s the idea she found. My plan was to keep the same look, but clean it up a bit.

This was so much fun! I had never stacked tiers before, only read about it. My heart was racing as my fingers let go of the top tier. Everything turned out wonderfully though! There was probably 2 inches of icing with the “snow,” but a little extra icing never hurt anyone, right?
