While I know how to make several flowers, they are a skill I feel like I can always improve. There is so much you can manipulate to make them look more realistic– from bag striping, trying new tips, varying the size, or adding other small details. I find myself looking much closer at real flowers when I see them, just to take in all the details.
When C.A.S.A. approached me about donating a cake for their Red Shoe Gala, I wanted to make something that fit with their Parisian artist theme. Making a cake with the most realistic flowers I could make was what I decided on. I really like this cake, and imitated the general design.
